The incidents that took place this Sunday during the visit to Paiporta of the king and queen, President Pedro Sánchez and the president Carlos Mazón have rekindled the old enmity between the Valencian former president Catalan Carles Puigdemont and the current leader of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page.
The two clashed following a message Puigdemont posted on his X account (the former Twitter) after violent incidents in which several citizens insulted and threw mud and sticks at the authorities. The expresident Catalan and leader of Junts shared a video of the riots claiming that the kings, “muddied up to the crownthey will leave with their tails between their legs”.
In response, Page also took to his X account to insult Puigdemont and ensure that he has “always” been “miserable as a politician.” “I suspect that as a person, too.. I do not know if with his tail between his legs. But he did show his face and not in the trunk of a car fleeing like a coward,” said the president of Castilla-La Mancha in reference to the way he used the expresident to evade arrest and leave Spain in 2017.
