The devastating DANA that hit the Valencian Community a week ago has disrupted not only the daily life of the inhabitants of the region, but also the programming of multiple television channels. Many programs have been forced to restructure their schedules to send their reporters to the field to document the impact and repercussions of this catastrophe. Among those sent to cover this tragedy is María Oneto, a reporter from Everything is a liewho this Thursday has connected live with the set to share the latest news about the situation.
Risto Mejide has taken the opportunity to to highlight the dedication of his colleague and expressing her concern for the emotional drain that covering an event of this magnitude implies: “You have been on the front line since the beginning, this situation is an emotional drain for many of us and I want to ask you something that perhaps has not been asked much during these days, how are you?
Visibly affected, Oneto has opened up to the presenter and has confessed the impact that this experience has had on her. “Risto if I told you…. I leave here shattered every day, I get to the hotel and I think about it and I even feel bad because I feel that I am lucky to be able to be crossing the river in a car, arriving at the hotel, taking a hot bath when I am meeting people who tell me that they can’t have that,” she has exposed.
The communicator continued her speech with a reflection on the meaning of her work and the mission that, according to her words, guides the work of all the reporters present at the site.We try to give visibility to all of them, to everything they tell us, to try to help them in every little thing they ask us (…) To try to give them a voice, we try to be a public service”.
In reply, Mejide has addressed a few words of recognition and encouragement to himthanking her for her involvement. “Maria you are doing very well and you are being very necessary, very useful, not only for the program but for all the people who watch us. I want you to know that the whole team admires you very much for the work you have done these days,” he said.
