Fans who watch Impact Wrestling have seen William Morrisey’s (Big Cass) transformation and the improvement he’s made since returning to the ring but last night on AEW Dynamite is the first time he’s been in front of a much larger audience and he got great reviews from fans on social media.
Apparently, Morrissey turned some heads within the wrestling business as well because there were questions about his contract status as he made his way out to the ring on AEW Dynamite for his match with Wardlow.
On the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast, Andrew Zarian said he heard from people asking about Morrisey’s contract. Zarian said, “I got a couple of messages about him from people. People wanting to know when his contract ends.”
Later in the show, Zarian said that people in WWE were definitely impressed by what they saw. “I’m not gonna say that WWE is gonna take him but I can tell you that WWE is definitely impressed by him,” Zarian said. “There’s no way around it, man. I got a message last night while he’s coming out and somebody wrote, ‘did you see this F’N guy?’”
Morrisey has talked about his issues with substance abuse and the work he’s put in to get clean. His personal issues are what led to his release from WWE in 2018 but all indications are that the dark days are behind him and it w9uld not be a shock if AEW or WWE offered him a full-time contract.
