Back in January, Major League Wrestling hit WWE with an antitrust violation lawsuit and the case is still ongoing. In the midst of the legal battle, the CEO of MLW provided a bit of an update on the situation.
MLW CEO, Court Bauer recently joined the Wrestling Inc podcast where he discussed the ongoing legal fight with Vince McMahon’s promotion.
Although Bauer mentioned that he cannot specify much about the situation, he did reveal that MLW has “exceptional” evidence to implicate WWE of their wrongdoings. He can’t say much due to the current case, but Bauer is certainly confident about how things are looking.
“Yeah, it would probably be strategically unwise to spill the beans on that here and now. I’m not trying to blue-ball you here, but all I can share is that we have exceptional, exceptional evidence of tortious interference. And as the legal process plays out, the public will see the evidence. It will come out and it’s pretty damning.”
For those who don’t know, the plaintiff has alleged WWE of interfering in MLW’s contracts and business process. Bauer’s promotion claims that WWE pressured third parties to abandon contracts and prospective relationships with his company.
Historically WWE has survived several similar lawsuits against them, and the boss, Vince McMahon, has lived to see them all. MLW is aware that the victory could potentially change the entire wrestling landscape, and Court Bauer has made it pretty apparent that he will not stop until they convey the court of WWE’s malpractice. We will continue monitoring this ongoing story here at Ringside News.
