The Government has approved this Monday in the Council of Ministers an extension of the DANA plan that was launched on Tuesday last week. The President, Pedro Sánchez, has presented a battery of 110 additional measures with an estimated impact of 3,800 million euros. These funds are in addition to the 10,600 million already deployed, which now amount to 14,000 million.
Most of the new measures presented on Monday complement last week’s package. First, the Government will grant an “immediate advance” of up to 50% of the aid for damaged housing or household goods to speed up the deployment of subsidies. Beneficiaries will not have to wait for their file to be processed to receive the funds.
In the same line, the Executive has decided to extend this line of aid to the tenants of the houses. Thus, tenants will be compensated for the personal belongings of the tenants that were damaged or lost due to the catastrophe. Likewise, coverage will be extended to non-essential goods.
In addition, aid for rebuilding homes will also be extended to owners who do not live in them and who were renting them. The previous decree stated that only people who lived in the property and it was their habitual residence could receive subsidies.
The amount of the subsidies is maintained. If the destruction of the property is total, the owner is entitled to a compensation of 60,480 euros, if there has been structural damage the amount decreases to 41,280 euros and if the damage does not affect the structure, the amount is 20,640 euros.
