The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts, Félix Bolañoshas called for this Sunday a new round of meetings with the political parties from Congress of Deputies to inform them about the situation caused by the DANA and to inform them of the next actions to be taken by the Government in coordination with other administrations. The catastrophe has already left 214 dead in the province of Valencia, according to official figures.
“Let us all work together to overcome this catastrophe”, Bolaños has asked in a message posted on the social network X. The president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has announced this Saturday his refusal to meet with Bolaños, because it would imply “whitewashing” a “criminal government”. Abascal’s formation has thus stressed that what “should have been done” by the Government of Pedro Sanchez was to activate the level 3 alert and “send all the troops of the Army to the street”, but “their inaction has cost lives”.
Minister Bolaños has already met with parliamentary spokespersons in the Lower House last Monday, November 4. The meeting was attended by all political parties, but did not include representatives of Vox, who declined to attend in order not to “whitewash” the Government.
