December 22 is one of the most special days of the year given the celebration of the Extraordinary Drawing of the Christmas Lottery. This iconic celebration “represents illusion and resilience in the face of adversity,” as stated by the president of Loterías y Apuestas del Estado, Jesús Huerta Almendro, at the presentation of the 2024 edition.
This year the lottery turns around “solidarity”. due to the situation experienced by thousands of people affected by the DANA that more than two weeks ago devastated many Valencian municipalities, as Huerta said on Thursday.
For this new edition of this raffle, the following have been put on sale 193 million tickets. The issuance has also increased, and now there are 193 series, eight more than in 2023, with a total prize to be distributed of 2,702 million euros. For this, the ‘Gordo’ will distribute 4,000,000 million per series; the second prize, 1,250,000 euros per series; or the third, 500,000 euros per series.
