This Wednesday afternoon, the set of ‘Ni que fuéramos’ was It’s not like we were greeted viewers with an unexpected novelty: María Patiño was not in charge of the Canal Quickie program.. Instead, Belen Esteban and Javier de Hoyos have taken on the challenge of presenting the program.
The reason behind Patiño’s absence has been no secret; this time, was due to a cold that has kept her away from the cameras.Something that ‘La Patron’ has explained: “Today our partner María Patiño is sick, she has a runny nose. She will be watching us from her bed, we tell her to take care of herself”.
It was not the first time that Patiño was absent from the format. for personal or health reasons. On other occasions, such as her brother’s wedding, she also took a break from her television obligations, so her colleagues have not hesitated to cover her place. Also, Kiko Matamoros has added his own message: “A kiss,” he said, looking at the camera.
The duo of Esteban and Hoyos have assumed their work with good humor, as evidenced by Esteban assuring: “Javi and I have the responsibility to carry this program forward”. To which Matamoros added: “Well, we’ve gone out to play with what we have”, in reference to to the reduced group of present talk-show hosts: Victor Sandoval, Marta Riesco and Matamoros himself.
The situation has given rise to more amusing comments about the faults of other space regulars.. Matamoros joked about Lydia Lozanobusy promoting her book The Revenge of La Lloronawhile Chelo García-Cortésaccording to him, was “lost”.
