The rains continue to settle in areas of the Mediterranean, where on Thursday the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) maintains the yellow alert for precipitation in Aragon and Catalonia, while in the Balearic Islands and the Valencian Community the alert is orange for accumulations of up to 40 liters in an hour.
In the Valencian Community orange alert has been activated (important risk) in the north coast of the province of Alicante due to rains -with probable storms- that will leave 40 liters in one hourIn the south coast of Valencia, rainfall will leave 20 liters in an hour.
The Balearic Islands have an orange warning on the island of Menorca for accumulations of 40 liters in one hourwhile in Mallorca the area most affected by rainfall will be the Sierra de Tramontana and the south and north and east of Mallorca, where 25-30 liters are expected in an hour or 80 liters in 12 hours.
At CataloniaThe yellow warning in the province of Girona will begin at 20:00 peninsular hours on Thursday for rains that will accumulate 20 liters per square meter in an hour; Aemet warns that in the Pyrenees will affect its easternmost part, bordering the pre-coastal and Empordà. The community of Aragon only maintains the yellow warning in the Pyrenees for rainfall of up to 15 liters in an hour, with probable thunderstorms.
At Andalusiathe province of Cádiz has a yellow alert for rough seas with wind from Levante of 50 to 61 km/h (force 7) west of the Strait and offshore south of Trafalgar.
With the orange alert there is an important meteorological risk, with some degree of danger for the usual activities, and with the yellow alert there is no meteorological risk for the population in general, although there is a risk for some specific activity.
Otherwise, the Aemet has indicated that anticyclonic weather is expected in much of the country with a predominance of little cloudy skies. With regard to the temperaturesThe maximum temperatures will increase in Galicia, the Cantabrian Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar, will not register major changes in the Canary Islands and will fall in the rest of the archipelago. On the other hand, minimum temperatures will rise in the Canary Islands and Andalusia and will fall in the northwest interior. In addition, weak frosts will be possible in the Pyrenees.
The provincial capitals that will record the highest values will be Santa Cruz de Tenerife with 26ºC; Badajoz, A Coruña, Ourense, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Pontevedra and Seville with 25ºC; and Almería and Huelva with 24ºC.
For the rest, the forecast shows that in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands will be blowing windsWinds, generally light, from the east. They will be more intense on the coast, northeast in Mediterranean areas and southeast in the Gulf of Cadiz, with intervals of strong easterly and very strong gusts in the Strait. Meanwhile, in the Canary Islands will blow light trade winds, more intense and south in summits.
