The first political reactions to the tragedy have not taken long to arrive, with statements of dismay. The President of Aragón, Jorge Azcón, was “shocked” by the “tragic” fire at the nursing home of Villafranca de Ebro, located in the province of Zaragoza, and theten people lost their lives in the accident.
“Shocked by the tragic fire in the nursing home in Villafranca de Ebro that has cost the lives of ten people,” said the Aragonese president in a message on the social network X, minutes before arriving at the residence where the fire occurred.
Azcón has announced the suspension of the entire agenda “as a sign of mourning” and has sent his “deepest condolences” to the families of the deceased.
Ten people have died and two others have been seriously injured in the early hours of Friday morning in the fire at the psycho-geriatric residence Jardines de Villafranca, according to sources from the Government of Aragon.

The delegate of the Government in Aragon, Fernando Beltran, has deeply regretted the death of ten people in the fire and has assured that he is attentive to the investigation into the origin of the fire.
