The PP considers that Mazón “has been accountable” after the management of the DANA while Sánchez and Ribera “look the other way”.

This Friday, the Valencian President Carlos Mazón has given explanations in the autonomous parliament about the crisis caused by the deadly DANA of last October 29, and the leadership of his party, the PP, has supported him and has lashed out against what, in his opinion, is a lack of transparency on the part of the central government.

She has been the secretary general of the PP, Cuca Gamarrawho pointed out that Mazón “has been accountable” to the public, while Pedro Sánchez and Minister Teresa Ribera “look the other way”.

“Mazón has been accountable in Les Corts before its citizens, which is what politicians should do, and I would have liked to have seen that done by Sánchez or Ribera. Not taking responsibility for what is your responsibility, is not the best example for Spanish society“, said Gamarra at a party event in Palma de Mallorca.

The secretary general of the Popular Party has said that her party “will work shoulder to shoulder” because it is “the main party in Spain”. Thus, he has claimed that from city councils, councils, island councils or regional governments, the PP has “lent a hand” with staff and emergency personnel, because “you do not have to ask for things to act”.

Gamarra has advanced that the PP will vote in favor of the royal decrees so that the aids “arrive quickly to those who need it”. and a message of “security, confidence and certainty” to rebuild the affected area.

Subsequently, Gamarra has demanded a Government that “governs” and not that “is just waiting to resist one more week in power”.“. At the same time, he has valued the “institutional loyalty”, for which he has asked to “strengthen” the institutions by means of a “democratic rescue”.

“Courageous announcements”

In addition, the general direction of the party has transmitted, after Mazón’s intervention in les Corts, that Feijóo knew the “approach” of Mazón’s speech and some of the announcements he planned to make in the Valencian Cortes, which, according to Genova, “are reasonable” and “brave”.

The same sources have emphasized that Mazón “raise the level of demands on himself”. and “link his continuity as president and candidate for reelection to an impeccable and exemplary management of the reconstruction in the Valencian Community”.

As well as Gamarra, the sources of the PP leadership have highlighted that Mazón has appeared while Pedro Sánchez has not yet done so in the Congress of Deputies. and neither will he attend next week’s government control session as he is at the G20 summit in Brazil.

Genoa maintains that the message of Mazón was “agreed” with Feijóo, who on the eve of the appearance of the Valencian baron asked to be “attentive” to his explanations because “there will be many people who feel partially comforted with the political class”.

PP sources have admitted that Feijóo and Mazón maintain a constant communication and, in fact, they converse “every day or almost every day”. Likewise, they have stressed that communication between their technical teams is also fluid.
