The Court of Instruction number 47 of Madrid has suspended the statement of Elisa Mouliaá, the actress who denounced Errejón to Íñigo Errejón for alleged sexual crimes, at the request of his lawyer. The investigating judge, Adolfo Carretero, has rescheduled the statement of the witness to next Tuesday, November 12 at 9.00 a.m., making it coincide with that of the accused, who will testify from ten o’clock.
The reason that has led Mouliaá’s lawyer to request the suspension of her client’s statement has to do with her strategy before the judicial process. As reported by Article 14In the case, counsel has asked for “more time” to prepare the case given the addition of more women who want to denounce. There would be 16 victims, including the actress, “from different cities”.
The scandal around Errejón broke out last October 24, when the spokesman of Sumar in Congress announced his resignation as a result of anonymous allegations collected by journalist Cristina Fallarás. That same day, late in the afternoon, the actress Elisa Mouliaá publicly acknowledged that she had suffered an episode of “sexual harassment” by Íñigo Errejón. The following day, Friday, October 25, Mouliaá went to the police station to file a complaint against the politician..
The Family and Women’s Unit (UFAM) of the National Police was in charge of collecting the victim’s testimony and forwarded it to the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid (TSJM). By turn of distribution, the matter was in the hands of the Court of Instruction number 47 of the capital, led by Judge Adolfo Carretero; which, according to legal sources, received the complaint on Monday, October 28, exactly eight days ago.
The first step taken by the magistrate as soon as he had the matter on the table was to send a letter to the Congress of Deputies so that the Lower House would confirm Errejón’s resignation from the seat. Hours later, on the afternoon of the 28th, the Congress confirmed that Íñigo Errejón was no longer aforado. Had he remained in the position of deputy, Errejón could only have been tried by the Supreme Court. This is the case, without going any further, of José Luis Ábalos, who cannot be tried for the Koldo case in the Audiencia Nacional.
But Judge Adolfo Carretero was able to confirm last Monday that Errejón is no longer a deputy, and now he has summoned him to testify as a defendant. An hour before hearing the ex-spokesman of Sumar, the instructor will take the statement of the actress Elisa Mouliaá to ratify in court the complaint she filed at the police station. Once the victim has been heard, next Tuesday Carretero will interrogate the accused.
The complaint filed by the actress states a meeting between Mouliáa and Errejón in September 2021.. He invited her to the presentation of his book, and there they met for the first time. After the event, Errejón invited her for a beer, and then she took him to a party at a friends’ house. On the way to the house, he told her that he was going to impose “three rules” that night: “The first, that she should not go far away from him; the second, that if she did, she should not go more than twenty meters away from him and return in a minute; and the third, that she should give him a kiss”.
At that moment, as she later explained to the police, the actress felt “violated”, but kept silent and both continued on their way to the party. Already in the elevator, Errejón grabbed her “tightly by the waist” and kissed her “in a violent way”.. According to Mouliáa’s account, both were dancing, drinking and chatting with the attendees at that party, but the moment she began to dance with a friend of hers Errejón began to suffer “an attack of jealousy”.
His reaction was to grab the actress by the arm and take her to one of the rooms of the house. Immediately afterwards, according to the testimony of the complainant, the deputy “locked the door” to prevent Mouliaá from escaping. He began to touch her, pushed her onto the bed and “pulled out his virile member”. She managed to restrain Errejón, but on the condition – to which she agreed – to leave for the politician’s house after 20 minutes. There the harassment continued, according to Mouliaá.
