The program of Big Brother is at a critical point. After passing the halfway point of the edition, the program celebrated this Thursday a historic gala with the name ‘La gala de los poderes’ (The gala of the powers). In it the contestants had to face several powers, among them the fulminant expulsion, the perpetual nomination, the resurrection or the veto of the nomination.
One of these powers, that of the withering expulsion went to Edi, who decided to expel Maica directly. However, a twist of the organization made that the public had to ratify that decision through the televote, a mechanics that generated a lot of controversy since with the rest of powers the public had no power of decision.
In addition, while the public voted, Maica could not be nominated by her peers. Finally, the public decided that Maica should return to the Big Brother house. and that she could continue with her contest. All these reasons have caused Edi’s family to explode against the organization of the program.
“Each contestant had to choose a figure that hid a power, but Edi, being the last one to choose, had no choice.And what did he get? To exercise a power that forced him to expel a fellow contestant.. The surprise? The production forced him to do it! Edi, without having any other choice, expelled Maica, the person with the least affinity with him in the house, something totally logical,” the statement reads.
“But this is not the end of the story. The program pulled out an ace up its sleeve! An extra power appeared that changed everything: Maica was not expelled directly, as the power indicated, but the decision was passed to the audience. And guess what, the audience decided that she should not be expelled!”, added the family.
“And as if that wasn’t enough, the program decides that Maica not only gets rid of the expulsion, but she can’t be nominated that week either, since they start the nominations without her presence. Week saved thanks to the program! And, in the meantime, Edi continues to be the target of attacks. and manipulations”, the text also states, which has been shared on social networks.

It is evident the favoritism towards certain contestants, while others are mercilessly attacked. We are outraged with this constant manipulation and we want people to know what is going on. We cannot continue to allow the program to manage the decisions at will, leaving in evidence its lack of impartiality”, says the family, who insists that there is a certain favoritism towards certain contestants.
Edi’s family also assures that there are contestants who are continuously “punished and discredited”. “This has to stop. The audience is tired of the manipulationIt’s time for the program to be fair to all contestants and stop manipulating the results in their favor! Therefore, we make this call to all of us who believe in justice and truth,” they add.
The statement also concludes that they have endured “too long”. “We will no longer allow Edi’s image or reputation to be played with.. Enough of manipulating the truth and using his name irresponsibly. We will not remain silent. It is time to put a stop and demand the respect it deserves,” they demand.
