Tessa Blanchard reportedly had a falling out with WOW Wrestling promotion, her future uncertain

Tessa Blanchard’s future in the wrestling business is currently uncertain after signing with WOW Wrestling last October. The announcement included Blanchard’s signing and a syndication deal with ViacomCBS.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports there are allegations of issues surrounding Tessa and the promotion. After she deactivated her social media, there has been a bit of a fallout between the two sides.

Her status for this week’s tapings is unclear, but if she doesn’t appear then it will tell a broader story. People who work for the promotion have signed non-disclosure agreements and fear backlash from the company or Blanchard when speaking out. However, many people within the promotion think that both have “more power within wrestling than they actually do.”

One source alleged that Blanchard cut a promo on wrestler Samantha Sage, who is known as Americana, in a class in mid-April and it saw Blanchard “tear apart” Sage, leading to many trainees speaking up. The acting classes were canceled from that point until further notice. One trainee was told Blanchard would be less involved going forward, but that’s not been confirmed by multiple sources.

One source indicated Blanchard is no longer in charge of training talent, and Selina Majors has been brought back to handle that role. An anonymous source said “If you are a fan of Tessa, you’d better learn Spanish,” implying that she would have to work in Mexico.

A former WOW star speculated that they believe Tessa is gone from the company, but that is not confirmed. It was teased that information regarding a major shift in plans for the promotion last fall will be coming out in the coming days.

Blanchard has wrestled only one match in the last two years – a loss in 2020 to drop the Warrior Wrestling Title to Kylie Rae. Blanchard’s reputation she had built on the independent circuit in the pro wrestling business has followed her throughout her career, which comes down to her past attitude issues and issues with talent.

Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reported last September that AEW and WWE have no plans to sign her. Blanchard departed from Impact Wrestling in 2020 after Impact stripped her of the World Title and fired her.

Chelsea Green previously alleged Blanchard tried “to look better than” the rest of the wrestlers (herself, Dr. Britt Baker, and Madison Rayne) involved in a fatal 4-way match at All In PPV in 2018.
