The circus company D’Click presents from today Monday 4 to Saturday 9 an innovative and pioneering initiative. It is about ‘Vals Zahorí’, a community creation show. itinerant show in which 10 young people between 18 and 30 years of age will participate from Zaragoza.
From Monday 4 to Friday 8, several workshops will be held to work on the creation of a unique piece of contemporary circus that integrates this group of people interested in the performing arts with the artists of the company D’Click. The objective of this initiative is to to give these young people the opportunity to participate in a creative process through various workshops.to bring it to the stage and open a space for dialogue between them, the public and the artists.
These workshops will take place in two spaces, La Fundizion and Salvador Allende CC.. Throughout these days, the 45-minute show will be prepared, which will be performed by will premiere on Saturday 9 at 5 p.m. outside the Salvador Allende Civic Center. (former Slaughterhouse of Zaragoza). Admission to the show, which is open to all audiences, will be free of charge. The project is funded by the Government of Aragon with the collaboration of the Salvador Allende Civic Center, which lends its space.
Under the title ‘Vals Zahorí’, this project is an artistic research around the theme of the meaning that water has brought as a resource of life, objects and inhabited spaces that surround us. For the creation of this show we will work on the creation of an expressive language that integrates the following disciplines: circus, manipulation of objects, dance and gestural theater..
“Starting from our own evolution as a company, we work on the basis of a language that dialogues between the body and the object through the expressive possibilities offered by contemporary circus and physical theater,” explains Ana Castrillo, a member of the company. She adds that “this show is an innovative proposal with a high degree of experimentalism.. We are going to create a play with a text-free dramaturgy, based on improvisation, audience participation and interaction with objects and the unconventional space in which it develops. It is not a narrative story, what we are proposing is in reality a performative collective creation, which will be unique and different each time it is performed.. In this case, it is the premiere, in Zaragoza”.
