Following the latest WWE NXT releases, more details are coming out on what was pitched for Malcolm Bivens.
Fightful is reporting that Bivens was pitched to be the manager of Omos a few months ago but he declined and he made it clear that he would not be signing a new deal next year. Bivens previously told the company last year that he intended not to re-sign but was convinced to stay because The Diamond Mine idea was pitched. It was also reported that LA Knight was considered for the role of Omos’ manager but the role ended up going to MVP. Knight has been appearing in dark match segments as the leader of a new stable called the Knight Model Management.
Dakota Kai’s deal was set to expire in April of 2023 and after she was brought up for dark match tryouts and not brought up to the main roster, Kai made it clear that she would not be signing a new deal next year. Her deal was set to expire in April of 2023.
Kai was one of the most well-liked people backstage and a good wrestler but, as noted earlier, Vince McMahon has his thoughts on who he feels is good enough for the main roster.
On Friday, Dave Meltzer noted that NXT creative was blindsided by some of the releases because some of the people who were cut (Persia Pirotta and Dexter Lumis, for example) were involved in storylines. Others, such as Harland, were not as much of a surprise because he had been removed as part of Joe Gacy’s act a couple of weeks ago.
