The central government and the Generalitat Valenciana have agreed on the following to share the tasks of reconstruction of local and regional roads. and other infrastructure affected by the DANA in the province of Valencia. According to the distribution of tasks that has been closed this Monday, the Valencian Executive will be in charge of the repair of 49 infrastructures in 18 municipalities and the central one, of 36 in other nine.including the localities hardest hit by the torrential rains of three weeks ago, such as Paiporta, Alfalfar or Picanya. The Minister of Transport, Óscar Puenteand the Councilor for Infrastructures, Vicente Martínez, have closed the distribution of tasks for the reconstruction of roads and other infrastructure of regional, provincial and local ownership in the third telematic meeting since the tragedy occurred, and which was preceded by the warning that the Ministry issued this very morning, that would contact the mayors directly if the Consell continued to fail to send them detailed information on where action was needed and with what degree of priority after not having done so by the agreed datelast Friday.

The Minister had been waiting for a detailed response for the past fortnightbeyond the mere “statement” of needs he spoke of earlier in the day in an interview on RNE, to the offer he made to Martínez at their first meeting, two Mondays ago, to place at his disposal the following information nine teams ready to actfrom other regular works or from post-DANA reconstruction works that have already been completed in the following areas state-owned roads or railroads.

The warning, however, did not have to become a reality because at Monday’s meeting the councilor has provided more information, so that it has been possible to make the distribution of where each administration will act. As reported by the Ministry afterwards, now will now “immediately” summon the municipalities for the planning and execution of the works.

According to the agreement, the Ministry will be responsible for repairing 36 infrastructures in the localities of Aldaia, Alfafar, AlmussafesManises, Paiporta, Pincanya, Real, Riba-roja and Xirivella.

For its part, the Generalitat will act in almost fifty infrastructures in Alcàsser, Bugarra, Calles, Cheste, Chera, Chiva, Gestalgar, Godetella, Loriguilla, Macastre, Montserrat, Pedralba, Picassent, Requena, Siete Aguas, Sinarcas, Sot de Chera and Torrent.

In turn, a part of the works planned in Algemesí, Beniparrell, Buñol and Catarroja. will be undertaken by the central government and another by the Generalitat Valenciana.

As reported by Transportes, the criterion for the distribution has been the linkage of the various infrastructures either with the State road network or with the regional road network.
