Polo G Arrested on Kidnapping, Robbery, and Assault Charges in California

Polo G was arrested yesterday due to an incident allegedly involving his younger brother, the rapper Trench Baby. According to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department, detectives went to Polo G and Trench Baby’s home to arrest the younger rapper for robbery and ended up also charging Polo G with possession of a short-barreled rifle after apparently locating firearms at the residence.
Following Polo G and Trench Baby’s arrest by the LAPD, the brothers were arrested and booked on kidnapping, robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon charges by the Burbank Police Department, a representative for the department tells Pitchfork. The charges stem from an incident report that was filed in April. According to the representative, the rappers were released on $100,000 bail and are due in court on Thursday, October 26. The charges are also pending review the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
“Regarding Burbank we are waiting additional information.,” Polo G’s attorney, Bradford M. Cohen, wrote in an email to Pitchfork. “Given that, the charges against Polo are very unusual given the timing and purported knowledge of the police. The length of time between the alleged incident and the arrest is suspect. We believe once all the facts come out it will be a very different picture than how the charges look on paper. We look forward to challenging the accusations and the vindication our client.”
