“La estrella azul” leads the Forqué nominations in an edition with Aragonese accents

Little did Javier Macipe imagine that the story of Mauricio Aznar and “The Blue Star” was to give him so much joy. Starting with that race to the Oscars in which, although it was not selected as a Spanish candidate, the Aragonese filmmaker has already seen a triumph and ending with some nominations for the Forqué Awards that he leads. This Thursday the nominations for what is the prelude to the Goya Awards came out and the Aragonese production aspires to win awards in three categories: best film, best male performance for the role of Pepe Lorente and the award for Cinema in Education and Values. For the moment, we will have to wait until December 14 to see if it manages to win any of these statuettes.

For the big prize, i.e. Best Picturethe story of the leader of Más Birras, will compete with “El 47” by Marcel Barrena, “Segundo premio” (Spanish Oscar nominee) by Isaki Lacuesta and Pol Rodríguez and “La infiltrada” by Arantxa Echeverría. The 30th edition of the Forqué Awards will have an Aragonese accent as Paula Ortiz’s “La virgen roja” and Pilar Palomero’s “Los destellos” are also in the running for awards.

Both “La virgen roja” and “Los destellos” compete in the category of best female interpretation with Najwa Nimri and Patricia López-Arnaiz. In addition, Pilar Palomero’s film is also in the Best Male Performance category with Antonio de La Torre. As for the rest of the categories, it is worth mentioning the “Best fiction series” with “Las abogadas”, “Cristóbal Balenciaga”, “El caso Asunta” and “Querer”.

The awards gala will take place on December 14 at Ifema and can be followed on RTVE. There, the Gold Medal will be awarded to José Luis Garc
