Javier Hidalgo says he is in the U.S., that he has not fled and that he has not been summoned by the Senate to attend the Koldo case commission.

The former CEO of Globalia, Javier Hidalgo, has sent a letter to the president of the Senate, Pedro Rollánin which he provides his address in the US city of Los Angeles, y has denied being “on the run”, assuring that he has not received an official summons to appear before the Senate investigation committee on all the ramifications of the Koldo case.

Sources close to the businessman have assured that Hidalgo has sent a letter to the Spanish Consulate in Los Angeles to communicate to the Senate that he is not on the run, after echoing a news item that reported that the Senate had summoned him to the commission of investigation on the Koldo case on November 22.

In addition, these same sources have explained that this Tuesday they will send a burofax to the Presidency of the Senate to make sure they receive the Los Angeles address, where he is currently staying, which they have described as an effort to “have more avenues” to prove that he is not on the run and that he has “his cell phone on” but no official subpoena has reached him.

Hidalgo recalled that something similar happened to him when he was summoned by the National Courtsince it was out of Spain because “travels a lot for years”. Thus, he stated that they were finally able to locate him and that is why he testified before the judge in the Koldo case last September.

The communication of the former CEO of Globalia with the Senate takes place after the president of the Senate investigation committee on the whole case, Eloy Suárez, decided to summon him for next Friday, November 29th by means of a criminal edict. -an notice published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) -, for being “unreachable”.

In this way, PP sources pointed out that “in view of the lack of collaboration of the Government” to send Hidalgo the notification of the scheduled appearance for November 22 in the Senate, where the PP has a majority, the president of the investigation committee of the Upper House has decided to process a new summons to appear by criminal edict, which will be the one scheduled for November 29.
