Vicente Vallés was the first guest of the week in El Hormiguero, where he went to chat with Pablo Motos about the outcome of the elections in the United States and the management of the DANA in Spain.
After talking about Donald Trump’s victory, the Valencian asked the host of Antena 3’s Noticias 2, the leading nightly news program on national television, about the ravages of the storm.
“With the DANA in networks we have seen, on the one hand, solidarity and on the other hand, malice made hoax,” said the host of the Antena 3 program. “It is very problematic when lies fabricated with ill will are imposed on truthful information. It is often true that they are difficult to separate,” the journalist replied.
Motos pointed out that what gave the feeling was that the only thing the leaders did was to blame each other: “We are in the process of sharing the blame. No one wants to be responsible, but it is clear that there are many responsible, not just one. Probably, it would be necessary to rethink the structures of the autonomic state once this happens”, Vallés told him.
The journalist added that “those who make the difference are the volunteers, the police, the civil guard, the firefighters… It is exciting to see people committed to helping”.
“Did the abandonment have to do with the Generalitat being from one party and the Government from another?” the presenter asked. “The question is very pertinent. I’m not sure I can give an answer, but it seems clear that when there is a political distance everything is barriers and obstacles.”
Finally, the Valencian wanted to know if, in the opinion of his guest, there would be resignations for the management of DANA. “I think that the most important thing of all is that we learn the lesson”, answered Vallés.
“There are circumstances in which protocols have to be skipped and improvised decisions have to be taken and each one will have to assume his political responsibility,” he pointed out,
Motos and Vallés connected with Roberto Brasero, Atresmedia’s weatherman, to inform them about the weather and the possible DANAs that could arrive.
