Goya, Agustina de Aragón and Palafox revive to tell their story in front of young and old alike

Goya, Agustina de Aragón y General Palafox traveled back in time this Friday to bring culture and history closer to secondary school students in Zaragoza and, for the first time this year, together with the users of the Senior Citizen Centers. The cycle “Librassic Park”. aims to make the enjoyment of the historical characters and their role in the history of Zaragozawithout age barriers.

The first work has been this morning at the Salvador Allende Civic Center. in front of the students of the IES Grande Covián and users of the Centro de Mayores de Las Fuentes, to bring back the Zaragoza of the Sitios thanks to Navegantes Theater. Literature, history and theater are the branches on which the project is built, which in this third edition evolves into an intergenerational format. “So that the kids understand it and remember it all their lives, it is better this way than studying it in a book.“commented one of the spectators at the Senior Center. Initially, the initiative was born to be performed in front of high schools, but after spending a day at the Las Fuentes Senior Center, the success was instant. “The seniors loved it, and this gave us the opportunity to to create a play that would arouse the interest of both teenagers and adults.“explained Jesús Pescador, the actor who brought Goya back to life. After the performance, the actors held a colloquium with the audience together with the Aragonese writer Fernando Lalana, who compared the situation of his characters with the present world.

The Councilor of Culture, Sara Fernandez, and Paloma Espinosa, Councilwoman delegate of Education, have also attended. “The reception is very good because the company manages to attract the attention of teenagers to events of the past in a very funny and insightful way.“said Fernandez minutes after the performance. This morning was held the first of eight sessions that will take place in the libraries and civic and senior centers of Zaragoza.
