The Fiba World Cup unfurls on August 25 in three cities in Asia with the Philippines serving as the main host of this year’s biggest basketball event.
Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City and Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City are the main venues for the 16 teams playing in the Philippines.
Fiba World Cup Group A: Philippines, Dominican Republic, Italy
Fiba World Cup Group B: Serbia, China, South Sudan, Puerto Rico
Fiba World Cup Group C: USA, Greece, New Zealand, Jordan
Fiba World Cup Group D: Egypt, Mexico, Montenegro, Lithuania
The 55,000-seater Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan, meanwhile, hosts the opening day doubleheader in Group A in an effort to set a World Cup attendance record.
The first round of the group phase is from August 25 to 30; the second round/classification from August 31 to September 3; and the final phase begins on September 5 with the Final set for September 10.
