After the DANA intensely hit the Valencian Community, leaving in its wake a devastating panorama, the team of Everything is a lie has decided to raise its voice through Risto Mejide with a strong statement of support for those affected.
“This program can no longer be silent. To begin with, we want to tell you that we are with you. Between being on the side of the people or on the side of politicians and rulers, we have been clear from day one,” Mejide began.
The TV personality has emphasized the impotence that overwhelms the affected people and has promised to spare no effort in denouncing what he considers a lack of real commitment. on the part of some leaders: “We are with the indignation, we are with the impotence and with the people who have lost everything. For your sake, we promise you that, as always, we will be implacable with the ones and the others (…) Do not let yourselves be labeled and much less by the same ones who abandoned you. The one because he did not ask for all the help he needed, the other because he decided not to send it anyway”.
Risto also has pointed directly to Pedro Sánchezhighlighting what he perceives as an insufficient response from the executive. “The president takes us for idiots once again, as if we citizens do not know how to read,” he said.
In his plea, cited the current legal framework to emphasize that, in the face of a disaster situation, the Government has the tools to act: “In Article 4 of Organic Law 4/81 of June 1 we can read perfectly that the Government, in use of the powers granted to it by Article 116.2 of the Constitution, may declare a State of Emergency in all or part of the national territory when any of the following serious alterations of normality occur: catastrophes, earthquakes, floods…”
However, Mejide has clarified that his criticism is not based on the fact that a more efficient and committed management is carried out. “This is not an anti-politics discourse, on the contrary, quite the contrary. It is that, when we need politics the most, the incompetence and negligence on the part of our politicians becomes more evident,” he pointed out.
The presenter did not want to conclude without acknowledging those who have worked tirelessly during the disaster: “We have also seen the best side of solidarity, the side of volunteers, of animal associations and, of course, of our emergency services”.
“For all of them and for the more than half a million people affected, 69 municipalities, goes this program and those to come. For you and for you, today more than ever we are starting up Everything is a lie“, he finished.
