Civil Guard detains a 41-year-old man for Sunday’s incident in Paiporta

The Civil Guard has arrested a man for the incidents that occurred during the visit to Paiporta (Valencia) on Sunday to the victims of the DANA in which the King and Queen of Spain and the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, were insulted. The arrested is 41 years old and is accused of the crimes of attack and public disorder.according to Las Provincias and confirmed by sources of the investigation.

This is the neighbor of this municipality that allegedly hit with a broomstick a car belonging to Sánchez’s motorcade. when he was being evacuated by his escorts. Investigators of the Civil Guard Information Service are still identifying more people related to the incidents, among them residents of Paiporta.

After receiving the first attestation from the Civil Guard, the Juzgado de Instrucción number 3 of Torrent opened proceedings for the crimes of attack, public disorder and damage in a visit in which a bodyguard of Queen Letizia was also injured in the head.

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, asked this Tuesday to differentiate between the “legitimate anger” of the victims of the DANA and the presence in Paiporta of “perfectly organized ultras groups” who last Sunday tried to “do as much damage as possible to the authorities present there”.

The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, assured that Sanchez received a blow and that is why he was evacuated. Neither he nor the director of the Civil Guard, Mercedes Gonzalez, have confirmed whether there were extreme right-wing ultras among those involved in this altercation.
