Carmelo Hayes Teases North American Title Defense On WWE NXT 2.0 This Week

Carmelo Hayes is currently in his second reign as the NXT North American Champion. Hayes first won the title by cashing in his NXT Breakout Tournament contract on Swerve Strickland on the October 12th, 2021, episode of NXT 2.0.

Carmelo defeated Roderick Strong to unify the Cruiserweight and the North American Championships at NXT: New Year’s Evil on January 4th, 2022. He lost the title to Cameron Grimes in a fatal five-way ladder match, but regained it soon.

The A-Champion took to Twitter on Monday and hinted at defending his title by giving away an open challenge this week on NXT 2.0. His last title defense came on the June 8th episode of NXT 2.0.

Gonna continue to celebrate my birthday on NXT TV tomorrow the best way I know how, collecting another W.
