Houses, businesses and entire towns have been devastated after the passage of the DANA in numerous localities of Valencia. Although the losses in most cases go far beyond the material. Losing everything has provoked in some people what is known as post-traumatic stress disorder, a mental health problem that develops after a traumatic event.
In addition, many others continue in fear of it happening again. In this context, the National Confederation of Labor (CNT) union in Valencia has given a series of recommendations for those who are suffering from anxiety.
Is it possible to ask for medical leave due to a DANA?
Two weeks after the fateful day that changed the lives of the inhabitants of these Valencian towns, many of them still do not feel physically or emotionally able to return to the routine they had before the DANA, therefore, the CNT has explained that “if you are going through such difficult times, the first thing is to take care of your health and ask for sick leave due to stress or anxiety”.
In these cases, it is recommended to follow the usual steps of going to the family doctor at the health center to have the situation evaluated and a diagnosis issued. If the doctor deems it necessary, he/she will issue a medical leave report and it will not be necessary to go to work until the doctor releases you again.
New non-recoverable paid leave
