Britney Spears Divorcing Husband Sam Asghari: Report

Britney Spears is divorcing her husband Sam Asghari, TMZ reports.

Spears began dating Asghari, an Iranian-American model and actor, after they met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016. Asghari served as a fierce advocate and de facto spokesperson for Spears during the final years of her conservatorship.

Days after Jamie Spears formally asked the Los Angeles Superior Court to end his daughter’s conservatorship in September 2021, Spears and Asghari announced their engagement. The couple married in June 2022.

In April 2022, Spears announced she and Asghari were expecting her third child, only to reveal one month later that she suffered a miscarriage.

Earlier this year, rumors about potential marital issues between Spears and Asghari were disputed by a rep for Asghari.

Spears was in two marriages before meeting Asghari. In early 2004, she was married to childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander for 55 hours. Later that year, Spears married dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she has two sons together. Their divorce was finalized in July 2007.
