The Extraordinary Drawing of the Christmas LotteryThe most awaited event of the year for millions of Spaniards, returns this December 22 with record figures. Jesús Huerta, president of Loterías y Apuestas del Estado, has highlighted that the pace of sales is being “very similar to last year, perhaps slightly above”, with 15% of the total already sold. Spaniards will spend an average of 73.84 euros on tickets to participate in the draw. The Galicianshowever, they will invest six euros more than the rest of the citizens and two euros more than in 2023.79.79 euros. The difference in spending is even more accentuated between provinces. The residents of Lugo will spend the most this year on lottery: about 97.23 euros. Ourense residents will spend the least, with 58.5 euros. The average in A Coruña is 86.75 euros and Pontevedra is 71.86 euros.
The communities that spend the most and the least on the lottery
The autonomous community that is expected to spend more per inhabitant this year is Castilla y León, with an average of 117.76 euros. They are followed by Asturias (115.43 euros), La Rioja (112.84 euros), Aragon (100.28 euros), Cantabria (99.4 euros), Basque Country (84.33 euros) and Community of Madrid (83.83 euros). Those who will spend the least this year in the purchase of tickets for this extraordinary draw are the inhabitants of the autonomous cities of Melilla (16.75 euros) and Ceuta (18.55 euros).
The community where it is expected to sell more Christmas Lottery is Madrid, with 575.08 million euros allocated. It is closely followed by Andalusia, with 522.7 million euros. In Catalonia, about 446.1 million euros are expected, while in the Valencian Community 426.3 million euros are estimated. The ones that have less tenths consigned are Melilla with 1.4 million euros, and Ceuta, with 1.5 million euros, respectively.
