Since it premiered in 2018 it was placed as one of the most watched platform series in Spain. “Élite” went around the world and placed its cast, some kids who were barely in their twenties, in the media spotlight. One of those actresses was Mina El Hammani who played Nadia, Omar Ayuso’s fictional sister. The 30-year-old actress will be in Zaragoza this week presenting a radically different project: “Raqa”, the new film by Gerardo Herrero.
El Hammani stars alongside another of the most recognized faces of the Spanish film scene: Álvaro Morte. She, together with director Gerardo Herrero, will be the protagonists of a colloquium on Thursday, November 21, at the Palafox cinemas. It will be in theater 4 at 8 p.m. and tickets are already on sale. The film will be released in theaters throughout Spain on November 22.
“Raqa” is a spy thriller that delves into the Islamic State and the darkness of Jihad. In the streets of Raqa, the international spy Haibala tries to hunt down El Jordano, one of the most wanted ISIS chiefs of the moment. He is not the only one infiltrating Syria. Malika, a nurse from Ceuta in the service of Europol, has arrived in Raqa for the same purpose. In a scenario marked by summary executions, the enslavement of women and bombings, Haibala and Malika will try each on their own to fulfill their mission: to locate and deliver the leader of the fundamentalist organization and precipitate the fall of ISIS.
