endless queues to get their hands on a lottery ticket.

It’s been less than a month since the summer and while some find themselves enjoying the sun and the beach, there are others that are already thinking about nougat and Christmas carols. The Christmas Lottery has already begun to be sold and the most foresighted have already come to buy it leaving long lines as in the administration of Doña Manolita, at Madridwhere you have to wait a long time to get a tenth of a lottery ticket.

Only between July and August are sold in Spain more than 3.6 million tickets sold Some people, instead of taking a souvenir of the place where they spend their summer holidays, decide to go ahead and take a lottery ticket so as not to regret it later if it is played there where they spent their days off. That is why Loterías y Apuestas del Estado has already launched this year’s summer Christmas lottery campaign under the name ‘Your best place in the world’.

The campaign insists on last year’s idea, as the president of Loterías y Apuestas del Estado, Jesús Huerta, pointed out in a press conference. A line of emotional communication, which focuses on the sites where we have spent our “usual” vacations, those on the coast or inland with grandparents and parents, and which mean so much to each of us.

With the slogan ‘What if the Christmas Jackpot falls here’, many small stories are told that make a big story, the traditional Christmas Lottery, whose draw this 2024 is a capicua, 212 years of history.

One of those little stories is the protagonist of the beaches, where luxury yachts do not anchor, but which are the most important for those who have jumped the waves on them since they were less than a meter high.

Other, the typical beach apartments, that are not on the seafront and do not have a suite, nor an open kitchen, but that are also more important to many than all that, because they are the 40 square meters that have given life to every summer.

The town square also claims its place. It is not St. Mark’s Square, nor does it have a great Gothic cathedral, nor do they go on full excursions to see it, but it is for many the most important square in the world, because it is the most important one in the world. where they were taken out to dance their first paso doble more than half a lifetime ago or where they celebrate the town fair every year.

Also the beach bar has its placeand the one that is not a five-star is on the scene. No sterilization is done there, no experimentation with liquid nitrogen, but it is where many people start their summer. Until they have a serving of anchovies, there is no summer.

In each of these places, Loterías has wanted to say that the Gordo, the first prize of the Christmas Lottery, can be there, which as always will be held on December 22, and which is already well guarded among the tenths on sale at all Selae points of sale.

Its endowment is repeated, 4 million euros to the series1,250,000 euros to the series, and the third 500,000 euros to the series, but this year the number of series increases, from 185 to 193, which means more tickets in play and also more prizes. In total 2,702 million in prizes will be distributed, 70 % of the emission that is of 3,860 million.

The tenth is illustrated with the work of ‘The Nativity’, by Francisco and Rodrigo de Osona, a work of the Prado Museum, in which dominate the bluish grays of the clothes with the stiff folds typical of the time. But in the generic graphics of the campaign, the hype is once again the protagonist and will be accompanied by ‘the best postcard in the world’, the one of that beach, that town or that swimming pool that we miss so much.
