The traditional Christmas Lottery in Spain goes hand in hand with its traditional advertisement which, for weeks before the draw, invites citizens to try their luck and ‘share’ the illusion of a ticket and a possible prize.

From more modest and traditional advertisements, such as the mythical ads from the famous “Lotería’s bald head” to other more recent and dazzling ones such as the one starring Raphael and Montserrat Caballé: the Christmas advert continues with its tradition one more year, introducing us to Juliána man who lives in a village in empty Spain, who shares his tenth lottery ticket in a very special way.

How much does it cost to record the Christmas Lottery ad?

In addition to the amounts of the draw, Loterías y Apuestas del Estado counts on a budget earmarked for the production of the traditional Christmas Lottery commercial, which consists of the extended ad, shorter versions, radio spots e graphic images to call for participation in the most popular Spanish lottery draw.

The price of the advertisement varies according to the year: as published by ABC, 166.2 million euros were allocated between 2009 and 2018. on recording these ads, with the most expensive being 2012, with a total of €3.5 million.
