The The ‘Tower of Babel’ Emerging Talent Awards reach their third edition, recognizing and giving visibility to the work of those who are just starting out. An initiative of Aragón Radio and the Caja Rural de Aragón Foundationwhich have once again joined forces to reward the creative talent of the young Aragonese between 14 and 35 years of age.
The awards are intended to recognize the work of young creators and to promote their knowledge by the general public. An idea that was born from the cultural program ‘La Torre de Babel’.which for years has been used by many young people with proposals. As explained by Ana Seguradirector of contents of Aragón Radio and of the program, is a space “where we want them to feel like best-sellers or great artists, we take great care that it is varied and plural”.
The works may be submitted in six categories: Audiovisual (video, video game, social networks, podcast or cinema), Literary Creation (poetry, narrative, drama or essay), Visual Arts (illustration and comic), Music, Companies and cultural initiatives and, this year for the first time, Performing Arts (theater, dance, mime or puppetry).
The prize for the winner in each category will consist of a sculpture by José Antonio Barrioswhich represents a tower from which the spike of creativity is born and the dissemination of works. The director of the Caja Rural de Aragón Foundation, Carlos López, has highlighted the value of this recognition “which allows young people to project their image and their work and advance in their professional careers.“through Aragón Radio, Aragón TV and its different platforms.
Young people from any of the provinces of the Autonomous Community of Aragon. or who have been registered in Aragón for at least one year prior to the date of publication of this call. Nominations should be sent through the form available on the website of these awards. from today until January 13 2025 at 11:59 pm. The same work may not be submitted in different categories.
More than 80 proposals have been submitted in the last two years.. In the last edition of these awards, the winners were the short film “Mi vecino Yuan”, by Alfredo Andreu Ríos; the collection of short stories “Un martes cualquiera”, by Laura Latorre Molins; the sculpture “Las horas”, by Fátima Tomás; and the EP of four songs “Un primer entrante”, by Raúl Pérez, known by the artistic name of Arey.
