Last Tuesday, October 29, at TorrentIn Valencia, Victor and his sons, Izan and Ruben, aged five and three, respectively, were at home when, suddenly, the power went out. Frightened, the two little ones began to cry and, when their father tried to calm them down, a truck crashed against the wall of the house and the water entered the house uncontrollably. Thus, father and children were swept away by the water and Victor was not able to hold the little ones.
This Tuesday, one week later, Espejo Público was able to speak live with Antonia, grandmother of the two children who, today, are still missing: “I was with my grandchildren until 3:00 pm. It started to rain a lot and my son came home to get the children and took them to his house.“.
Likewise, Antonia has pointed out that her son is admitted to the hospital: “There was a tree in which my son got stuck.. He was about to let go so that the current would take him too, but he says he thought of his wife and that’s why he kept holding on to the tree.”
“He was clinging to the tree for five hours until he was rescued. He has many wounds, many are infected and he has had to be operated on twice. We didn’t hear anything about my son until 4:00 a.m. We didn’t hear anything about my son until 4:00 a.m.. We did not know until hours later that the children were not with their father. I fainted when they told me. I didn’t believe it,” Antonia recalled.
“Nobody has gone to Torrent for days. It was not until Monday that the Guardia Civil went to look for my grandchildren.. Only the Local Police of Alicante has helped us since Wednesday. It is a shame. I need you to help me, I don’t want money or food, I want help to look for my grandchildren“, the woman pleaded.
