Adif y Renfe high speed train service between Valencia and Barcelona will be restored as of this Saturday for urgent journeys through the Long Distance service (Euromed). Circulation will also be resumed on lines C5 and C6 of Cercanías of the Valencian capital will also be resumed in a limited way for essential trips, according to the Ministry of Transport in a press release.
They will leave two trains from Valencia and two from Barcelona. At 15.02 a train will depart from Valencia Joaquín Sorolla station towards Barcelona Sans and another at 18.55. At 16.10 one will depart from Barcelona Sans and at 18.15 another from Figueres-Vilafant. For its part, the C6 Valencia-Castellón will put into service 17 trains per direction per daywhile the C5 Valencia-Caudiel will operate three trains per direction.
On the other hand, the C5 Valencia-Caudiel train service has been reestablished since Friday. circulation of the Freight servicebut only for freight trains, empty materials and infrastructure trains between Valencia-Sagunto-Teruel and between Valencia and Tarragona “with temporary speed limitations at risk points”, according to Transport.
The communiqué also states that the rest of the Cercanías de Valencia lines (C1 Valencia-Gandia, C2 Valencia-Moixent and C3 Valencia-Utiel) remain inoperative and without forecast of restoration. Transport also reminds that “travel should be restricted to a minimum, especially by road”.
